American Idol Update: Does Bikini Girl have a fair, impartial shot at winning?
Katrina Darrell, aka “Bikini Girl” is having a lot of fun with her American Idol auditions, so far. This is a good thing, because this bikini girl is going to need her tongue firmly implanted in her cheek for the long haul; should she stay in this American Idol season for any length of time.
In reality, Katrina Darrell does have a great voice to back up her presence in these auditions! What this bikini girl does not have are half the judges - specifically, Kara DioGuardi and Paula Abdul. Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson could not be more pleased with Katrina, because she does have that certain female charm and good pipes. What a deadly package!
Kara DioGuardi is really itching for another cat-fight with Katrina , and you can see this in Kara’s body language. She is looking for any reasons to try and bait her, drawing Bikini Girl out for a fight.
Paula seems to be backing Kara up. There must more than a few American Idol fans that think Kara DioGuardi and Katrina Darrell should just go out into the parking lot and settle their differences, before this bad chemistry explodes on live TV. Of course, they should tape the parking lot fight!
Nick Mitchell, aka “Norman” needs to make a few quick decisions on who he really wants to be, if he wants a shot at staying in American Idol for any length of time. He has the voice, but as “Norman” he is a costumed comedian that only Elton John could love.
Simon Cowell hates Nick’s “Norman” persona, telling him that he needs to get real. Yet Randy and Paula are tickled by Nick Mitchell’s, “Norman” character. In the end, this American Idol hopeful better figure out, who is really wants to be.
Just over one hundred Hollywood hopefuls made it to American Idol tryouts in Tinsel Town. Last night’s tryouts, found many hopefuls going home. Some accepted this fate like troopers, while a few others fought back, asking for another shot; none getting a second chance.
The producers of American Idol, promised us that many early contestant eliminations would be coming at them - fast and furious. Last night, the contestants all had one shot to make a good impression with the Idol judges.
Tonight, will be round 2 of American Idol’s Hollywood auditions. The contestants have to do group numbers, together. Singing in harmony, and wowing the judges. This should be very interesting! Hope they choose to do good songs!
